Driver of the Month – June 2020
This month we are featuring owner operator , Trev, as driver of the month for June 2020. Trev has been driving a truck for 5 years, two of which have been with BWY Transport. Residing in Atlanta, GA, Trev is the father of four children- twin 15 year old boys, a 14 year old daughter and a 9 year old son, as well as two cats and a Yorky. He and his wife talked about him becoming a truck driver many years ago, but his children were too young at the time. He worked as a barber and in warehousing during his childrens’ early years before he deciding to go into trucking.
What he likes about Trucking…
Trev said that when it comes to trucking, he loves the freedom and the open road and seeing lots of different places. He does miss his family but stays in touch with face timing. He also enjoys listening to music such as R&B and hip hop while driving and during the down times he watches TV. When he is at home, he and his wife will prepare meals for his stretches of time out on the road and when that is gone, Popeye’s will do!
Why Trev was chosen as Driver of the Month
Trev was nominated by dispatch as driver of the month because of his work ethic, attitude, and the way he represents BWY Transport in a manner which makes us very proud to have him on our team.
As stated by one of our dispatch team, Doug Frizzell…
“Trev is a positive member of our team. He simply keeps the truck moving while having one of the most positive attitudes on our entire fleet. I feel he represents our brand extremely well when dealing with customers and other drivers on the road”
In Trev’s words….
Simple, yet great advice that comes from Trev for other owner operators…
“You’ve got to come up with a plan to manage your time and money. If the wheels are not turning and burning, you are not making money!” And when it comes to a positive attitude… “People have bad days – just don’t take it out on others – keep a good attitude”
One last thing……..
As for Trev’s future, he says he really likes what he is doing and plans to do it for a long time. But when it comes to hobbies and free time, sometimes he just goes to the track and burns up the road with only four wheels in his ’85 Monte Carlo SS.
